Fisher Earns Second Freshman All-America Honor

Charlotte baseball outfielder Cam Fisher picked up his second Freshman All-America award this summer on Thursday (July 7) after being named to the Baseball America Freshman All-America Second Team. The Baseball America award comes nearly a month after Fisher was recognized as a Freshman All-American by Collegiate Baseball in June.

A Second Team All-Conference USA and All-Freshman Team selection, Fisher led the Niners with 18 home runs and was second on the team with 60 RBIs. His 18 homers were 58th in the country among all players and fourth among those with freshman eligibility. Two of his home runs were grand slams in the same game against Marshall, giving him eight RBIs in the game to match the program record for most RBIs in a single game. The Knoxville, Tenn., native also racked up 17 doubles and had one triple for a team-leading 36 extra-base hits and a .607 slugging percentage and 1.019 OPS - both second on the team. Fisher was one of just two Niners to start in every contest this season and led Charlotte's outfield unit with four assists.

Fisher is Charlotte's 22nd Freshman All-American in program history and the fifth in the last three years, joining Christian Lothes (2021), Will Butcher (2021), and David McCabe (2020) from this season's squad.
