LaMelo Ball leads Eastern Conference guards in third All-Star voting return

The NBA has released its third round of fan voting results for the 2025 All-Star Game, scheduled to take place in San Francisco. Charlotte Hornets guard LaMelo Ball is leading all Eastern Conference guards with a total of 1,908,967 votes. Ball was previously named an All-Star in 2022, making him the fourth-youngest player in league history to receive this honor.

Ball's performance this season includes career highs in several categories: he is averaging 29.6 points, 10.3 field goals, 4.4 three-pointers, and 4.5 free throws per game. Additionally, he records 5.5 rebounds, 7.5 assists, and 1.4 steals over his 26 appearances so far this season. His scoring average places him fourth in the NBA and on track to set a new single-season record for the Hornets.

Notably, Ball leads the NBA with an average of 4.4 three-pointers per game and tops the league in fourth-quarter points per game at 9.2. On November 23rd against Milwaukee, he achieved a career-high of 50 points along with six three-pointers, five rebounds, and ten assists—making him one of only nine players in NBA history to achieve such statistics in a single game.

LaMelo Ball's career statistics include appearances in 210 games (190 starts), where he has averaged 21.2 points, 6.1 rebounds, 7.4 assists, and 1.5 steals per game since being named the NBA Rookie of the Year for the 2020-21 season.

Fans have been able to vote for their preferred starters for the NBA All-Star Game since December 19th via the NBA App and NBA.com using their NBA ID accounts; voting will conclude on January 20th at midnight ET.

TNT is set to announce the starters for this year's All-Star Game on January 23rd and reserves on January 30th.

In addition to fans' input through voting channels mentioned above, current NBA players and a media panel are also participating in selecting starters by submitting one full ballot each during this period.

Votes will be tallied based on rankings within each conference by position (guard or frontcourt) across three groups: fan votes count alongside those from players themselves as well as members from selected media outlets—each contributing towards calculating scores that determine which two guards plus three frontcourt representatives emerge as official starters come game day later next month.

Fan votes act as tiebreakers if needed among tied positions within any given group’s score calculations overall.
