A first arriving manager found smoke emanating from the roof of the closed and vacant restaurant as well as the dining room charged with smoke. Engine 28 arrived and, upon the primary search by Tower 18, found and extinguished a fire in the dining room wall. The investigators determined the fire was caused by a loose or corroded connection inside the metal junction box associated with an exterior wall-mounted light fixture.
Thankfully there were no injuries.
Well done to Engine 28, 18, 25, 31, Ladder 28, Tower 18, Rescue 11, Fire Investigator 2, 5 and Safety 1.
