The NBA has announced the groups for the Emirates NBA Cup, placing the Charlotte Hornets in East Group A alongside the Brooklyn Nets, New York Knicks, Orlando Magic, and Philadelphia 76ers. The second annual in-season competition will commence on Tuesday, Nov. 12, in various NBA team markets and will conclude with the Semifinals and Championship at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas on Dec. 14 and Dec. 17, respectively.

Similar to last season’s inaugural tournament, the Emirates NBA Cup 2024 will feature two stages: Group Play for all 30 NBA teams and Knockout Rounds for the eight teams advancing from Group Play (the three group winners and one wild card from each conference).

Group Play games are scheduled on “Cup Nights” across four Tuesdays (Nov. 12, 19, 26 and Dec. 3) and three Fridays (Nov. 15, 22, and 29). Each team will play one game against each of its four group opponents.

The single-elimination Knockout Rounds will start with the Quarterfinals on Tuesday, Dec. 10, and Wednesday, Dec. 11, in NBA team markets. The Semifinals and Championship will take place at T-Mobile Arena for the second consecutive year.

The remaining 22 teams that do not qualify for the Quarterfinals will be assigned two regular-season games—one home game and one road game—scheduled for Thursday or Friday (Dec. 12 or Dec. 13) and Sunday or Monday (Dec. 15 or Dec. 16). Teams losing in the Quarterfinals within each conference will face off in regular-season games on Dec. 12, 13, 15 or 16.
