Bank of America Stadium | Carolina Panthers
Bobby Brown III, a new addition to the Carolina Panthers, had a long journey before his arrival in Charlotte. The defensive tackle traveled from Hawaii, where he attended NFLPA meetings, enduring two six-hour flights with a delay at Los Angeles International Airport. Despite the fatigue, Brown was in high spirits upon reaching Bank of America Stadium.
Brown humorously questioned the graphic displayed at the stadium that depicted him with a stern expression: "Why the mean face?" He explained his exhaustion from traveling but expressed excitement about joining the Panthers: "I'm feeling great just to be here honestly," he said.
His travels began in Maui and included a first-class flight across the Pacific Ocean, which allowed him some rest. However, the subsequent flight to Charlotte proved challenging as he couldn't sleep: "That second six hours was just gruesome," Brown noted. To pass time, he engaged with social media and stayed connected with his mother until she went to bed.
Brown has already formed an online connection with fellow Panther Derrick Brown. The two have met before when Bobby's Texas A&M team played against Derrick's Auburn. Bobby admired Derrick's playing style and modeled his game after him. Upon joining the Panthers, Derrick welcomed Bobby via text message: "He was just like, let's go get this money," Bobby recalled.
The day of his arrival included greetings from former Rams colleagues and coaches now with the Panthers. Reflecting on why he chose to join Carolina, Brown stated: "Honestly, the fact that they wanted me...y'all got something going here and building something."
Despite a hectic schedule on his first day as a Panther—landing at 8:27 a.m., undergoing medical checks, signing contracts, meeting coaches—Brown looked forward to some well-deserved rest: "I'm going to sleep," he confirmed.
