Charlotte FC has announced that defender Joao Pedro will join Rio Ave FC, a Portuguese club, on loan until July 1, 2025. The decision was made to support Pedro's professional development.

General Manager Zoran Krneta stated, “A loan move for JP is the best option for his professional development at this time in his career.” He emphasized the competitiveness of the Portuguese league and its suitability for Pedro's growth as a player. Krneta added, "Everyone at Club wishes him well for the months ahead in Portugal."

Pedro became part of Charlotte FC through Crown Legacy and participated in seven matches during the 2024 season.

The transaction sees Joao Pedro joining Rio Ave FC on loan until mid-2025.
