The Carolina Panthers have secured kicker Matthew Wright with a reserve/future contract. This move comes as the team prepares for the offseason, ensuring they have a kicker on their roster.

Matthew Wright, 28, is familiar to the Panthers, having been part of their training camp in 2023. He also played in the regular season finale against Tampa Bay after Eddy Piñeiro sustained an injury.

With Piñeiro approaching unrestricted free agency in a month, there is some uncertainty surrounding the kicker position for the Panthers.

Wright has gained experience with multiple teams recently, including the Steelers, 49ers, Chiefs, and Titans last season. Throughout his career, he has participated in 29 games and successfully completed 55 out of 63 field goal attempts (87.3 percent), with seven successful kicks from beyond 50 yards.
