The Carolina Panthers have secured a one-year agreement with wide receiver Dan Chisena, who was on the verge of becoming a restricted free agent. The 28-year-old athlete joined the team's practice squad in October and was later promoted to the active roster by December.

Chisena, who caught his first three NFL passes during his tenure with the Panthers, has previously been part of several teams including the Vikings, Steelers, Cardinals, and Ravens. His background as a track athlete at Penn State is notable; he ran a 4.32-second 40-yard dash during his pro day and played three seasons of football for the Nittany Lions.

Known for his speed, Chisena contributed to special teams for the Panthers, particularly as a gunner in the final weeks of last season.
