When Tommy Tremble was a child, his grandfather Rich Watts introduced him to comic books and shared a family secret: "I actually don't go to work. I'm Superman." This story left a lasting impression on Tremble, who fondly recalls his grandfather's resemblance to Clark Kent and the magical moments they shared.
Tremble's love for superheroes, especially Superman, was nurtured by his uncles. "Spider-Man, DC, all that, The Avengers, Fantastic Four," he said. His favorite superhero remains Superman because of the hope he symbolizes: "He always gives people hope no matter what's going on."
The influence of comics and family extended into Tremble's life as he pursued college and professional football. His family has deep ties to the sport; his grandfather signed with the Atlanta Falcons, uncle Bert Watts is a defensive coach in the league, and his father Greg Tremble won a Super Bowl with the Dallas Cowboys.
Recently, Tremble wanted to thank his father for his support. He surprised him with a new GMC Denali Ultimate truck in Georgia. During this visit, while cleaning out his father's old vehicle, they found something unexpected—a Superman ring that had been lost for years.
Rich Watts was present during this momentous occasion. "It was just crazy that he was there," Tremble said about finding the ring while celebrating with family.
Following this eventful weekend, Tremble received news from the Panthers offering him a second contract after an impressive season. This achievement marked a significant milestone in his career: "It's pretty cool to think we've gotten this far."
With plans to buy a house and welcome their first child soon, Tremble reflects on recent events as transformative: "This past weekend was probably the best two to three days of my life... it was just a full circle moment." As he embarks on this new chapter wearing the rediscovered Superman ring on his pinky finger, he remains grounded by childhood dreams and values instilled by family.
