Tre'von Moehrig, a self-taught guitar enthusiast and NFL safety, is making strides both on and off the field. Known for his love of classic rock bands like Nirvana and Red Hot Chili Peppers, Moehrig has been honing his musical skills through online tutorials. "I just love that kind of Nirvana music, Red Hot Chili Peppers," he said. "Marty, love your videos! You've helped me a ton."

Beyond music, Moehrig has been exploring various hobbies such as snowboarding and boxing during the offseason. This diverse range of activities helps him unwind from football while keeping his mind engaged. "I just love doing different stuff, learning things," he explained.

His adaptability was evident last season when the Las Vegas Raiders moved him closer to the line of scrimmage. The shift resulted in a standout year with 104 tackles and multiple defensive plays. "It's a lot faster," Moehrig remarked about playing in the box.

The Carolina Panthers noticed Moehrig's versatility and signed him to bolster their defense under coordinator Ejiro Evero. With only one safety under contract before free agency, general manager Dan Morgan saw Moehrig as an ideal addition due to his ability to play multiple positions in the secondary.

"I really think I can just provide...a dominant mentality," Moehrig stated regarding his role with the Panthers. He looks forward to contributing by offering varied defensive looks.

Rated highly among free agents this year, Moehrig chose the Panthers based on their vision for success articulated by Dan Morgan and Dave Canales. "I think just the vision that Dan and Dave have...I'm confident in what they were telling me," he said.

While familiar with fellow TCU alum Andy Dalton on the roster, Moehrig is eager to build relationships with new teammates like cornerback Jaycee Horn. Offseason plans may include joining Dalton on tennis courts or mastering Metallica songs before practices begin.

"I'm trying to do one by Metallica right now," he mentioned about his current musical challenge.
