Two new players, Tershawn Wharton and Tre'von Moehrig, have joined the Carolina Panthers as part of their free-agency signings. Both are adjusting to their new roles in Charlotte, coming from different backgrounds and teams.

Wharton arrives with two Super Bowl rings from his time with the Kansas City Chiefs. Despite this success, he draws inspiration from another NFC team. "I mean, each year with this league, you never know what teams are going to spark," Wharton stated. He is optimistic about the Panthers' potential turnaround given their current assets.

Moehrig joins from a struggling Raiders team that finished 4-13 last season. The Panthers managed one more win than the Raiders but showed improvement in the latter half of the season. Moehrig expressed confidence in the team's leadership: "I have faith in what (general manager) Dan (Morgan) and (coach) Dave (Canales) are doing."

As one of only two safeties on the roster, Moehrig recognizes his role in guiding younger players. "I'd say just, you know, helping the young guys out coming from college," he said.

Both players aim to make significant contributions to Carolina's defense. Wharton seeks opportunities beyond his previous role in Kansas City: "I played out of position... I want to be able to rush." Meanwhile, Moehrig feels comfortable within a familiar defensive scheme and plans to lead by example through physical play.

The Panthers hope these additions will be crucial for their defensive rebuild as they prepare for upcoming challenges.

"I'm excited to be a part of this group," Moehrig added. "I think we got a lot of talented players."
