The Carolina Panthers conducted their Wednesday practice session with six players absent. However, some key players who had been sidelined made a return to the field.
Jadeveon Clowney, Troy Hill, and A'Shawn Robinson were among those who did not participate, though their absence was attributed to rest days. Diontae Johnson (ankle), Josey Jewell (hamstring/groin), and Shaq Thompson (Achilles) also missed practice as the team prepared for their upcoming game in Chicago.
Returning on a limited basis were starting left guard Damien Lewis (elbow) and nose tackle Shy Tuttle (foot). Tuttle had been out for two weeks, while Lewis missed the previous game.
Others limited in practice included outside linebacker Charles Harris (shoulder), right guard Robert Hunt (hip), center Andrew Raym (head), and safety Nick Scott (shoulder). Cornerback Dane Jackson (hamstring) and tight end Ian Thomas (calf), both designated to return from injured reserve on Wednesday, also participated in a limited capacity.
Special teamer Lonnie Johnson, who had been sidelined last week due to a hip issue, fully participated in Wednesday's practice session.
