The Carolina Panthers have announced that running back Miles Sanders has been placed on injured reserve, sidelining him for at least four weeks. Sanders sustained an injury during the second quarter of a game in Germany before the team's bye week. As a result, he did not participate in practice this week and was already confirmed to miss Sunday's matchup against the Kansas City Chiefs.

Sanders, aged 27, has recorded 38 carries for 139 yards and one touchdown this season. His touchdown came during a Week 3 victory against Las Vegas.

To address his absence, the Panthers have signed wide receiver Deven Thompkins to their active roster. Thompkins had previously been elevated from the practice squad over the past two weeks to compensate for Adam Thielen's hamstring injury. Thielen is anticipated to make his return in Sunday's game.

In addition to these roster changes, the Panthers have promoted wide receiver Dan Chisena and outside linebacker Kenny Dyson from the practice squad under standard elevation rules. This marks their first of three possible elevations each.

The team has also updated outside linebacker Amaré Barno's status from doubtful to out for this week. Barno recently resumed practice following an ACL tear last Christmas Eve and is currently within his three-week window to return.
