The Carolina Panthers will continue with Bryce Young as their starting quarterback for the upcoming game against the New Orleans Saints. Head Coach Dave Canales confirmed this decision on Wednesday, marking Young's second consecutive start since his return to the lineup.
Andy Dalton, a veteran quarterback for the Panthers, returned to practice on Wednesday. This was his first session since being involved in a car accident eight days prior, which led to his absence from the game against Denver.
Young recently delivered a strong performance that was statistically one of his best since last year's Christmas Eve match against the Packers. In that game, he achieved 312 passing yards and two touchdowns. In the recent matchup against the Broncos, Young completed 24 out of 37 passes for 224 yards with two touchdowns and two interceptions. This marked the second-highest passing yardage recorded by an opponent against Denver this season. The Broncos are known for their robust defense, ranking third overall in total defense and fourth in passing defense.
During the game, Young successfully led the team to touchdowns during their opening and closing drives. However, throughout nine possessions between these drives, they managed only six first downs.
